in the dance between attachment that is anxious,
and attachment that is avoidant,
and maybe attachment that falls somewhere in between,
there can be an idea that one is better, morally superior,
one shows they care more through an impassioned closeness
and louder expressions of love,
one shows the same through avoidance
avoidance of conflict, and of intensity,
stepping away in attempt to keep the peace.
though we are not so different, you and l..
for ultimately in our attachment we are seeking safety
it may just show up a little differently.
and our anxious attachment seeks safety in the external, and in others.
I need you to let me know that I am okay, that we are okay.
the urgent need for resolve.
and in our avoidant attachment, safety is internal,
needs met in the quiet, in moments of shutdown,
in the safe space created in self, the need to be untouchable.
and neither are better, or worse,
they just are as they are.
efforts to protect, and to keep ourselves safe.
