ACT Therapy
acceptance and commitment therapy
Sometimes, the more we try to push away difficult thoughts, feelings or experiences,
the more stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected we can begin to feel.

You might notice yourself caught in cycles of overthinking, avoidance, self-criticism,
or trying hard to control emotions that feel uncomfortable or overwhelming.

At times, this can create distance from the things that matter most to you;
your relationships, your sense of self, your wellbeing,
or the kind of life that feels aligned for you.

You might notice:
getting caught in unhelpful thoughts or worry,
avoiding situations, conversations, or emotions,
difficulty being present or connected in everyday life,
feeling disconnected from yourself, others, or what feels meaningful,
struggling with self-criticism, perfectionism, or fear of failure,
feeling stuck between wanting to change and feeling unable to move forward.

ACT is an evidence-based approach
supporting you to stay connected to yourself and what matters,
even when faced with difficult thoughts, emotions, or uncertainty.
It is not about forcing positivity or getting rid of emotions,
it is building a different relationship with your internal experiences,
so they feel less consuming, less controlling,
and less able to pull you away from the life you want to live.

Using a trauma-informed and attachment-focused lens, we gently explore the patterns, fears, beliefs, and protective strategies keeping you stuck,
while building greater awareness, flexibility, and self-understanding.

Our work may include:
learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions,
reducing avoidance and building emotional flexibility,
developing mindfulness and present-moment awareness,
reconnecting with your values, needs, and sense of meaning.
understanding self-criticism, perfectionism, or fear-based patterns,
building self-compassion, emotional safety, and nervous system support,
taking small, meaningful steps toward the life and relationships you want.

ACT is about holding difficult emotions with greater steadiness,
while continuing to move toward a life that feels
aligned, meaningful, and connected.
