Are we the common denominator in a pattern that keeps showing up?

if we can reflect and find that

we are the common denominator

in a pattern that keeps showing up in our lives

perhaps we can meet this with compassionate curiosity...

to wonder why we keep choosing this

or for which parts of self keep choosing this.

to take accountability for those parts that

[though perhaps well-intentioned]

move in ways to keep us stuck.

the awareness of, and insight into our patterns

coupled with grace and kindness for those tender parts

can empower us to choose differently,

to choose a path that feels more aligned - to choose ourselves,

and to choose the version of self that we would most like to be.

to understand the familiarity, understand where this was learned,

and how it once served us, and once kept us safe

to thank, though to let go of past patterns,

and give strength to the knowledge that life is not happening to us

rather that life is coming from us.

in all the patterns that we can hold space for,

and all the patterns we can choose.
